I am a senior, photojournalism major at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.
I am a very task oriented person and I always meet my deadlines, all while putting precise effort and time in to each project.
This past summer, I interned in the Sales and Marketing department at the Texas Motor Speedway. The duties I performed were dull, but I did learn to be very particular about details. Also, I was given the opportunity to take pictures at the June race events. Because I was considered an employee of the track, I was granted access to anywhere I wanted to take pictures at. I noticed that some newspaper photographers weren’t allowed to be in places that I was.
Last school year, I worked as an intern for The North Texas Daily. The experience that I have gained through the school paper has been great for me. I have learned so much as well as made life time friends. I am totally in love with photography and I want to do this for the rest of my life. I never want to be restricted to staying inside because I would rather want be out in the world, capturing it.
I wait tables at Babes Chicken Dinner House in Roanoke, TX. I have been working there for almost four years. It is a great college job, but hopefully I will not have to do this job forever.
As a hobby, that I use mostly as an excuse to get away from time to time, is dirt bike racing. I am a member of the Texas Cross Country Racing Association (TCCRA). I started racing after my brother and dad raced for a year or two. Last season I placed third overall in the Ladies Amateur class, taking home my first trophy. I am sure that you will be seeing picture posts from these races. Taking pictures for a racing magazine is my ultimate goal. Please enjoy my photos. Comments and criticism is always welcomed. -Whitney
